A Study on the Effects of Online Narrative Therapy Group Counseling Programs on the Self-Identity and Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy of College Students

Abstract
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to organize and conduct a narrative therapy-based group counseling program to establish self-identity of college students and solve difficulties in career decision-making.

Methods: This study recruited 16 college students from all over the country, wirelessly placed 8 students each in the experimental group and the control group, and conducted a total of 10 narrative therapy group counseling programs twice a week for two hours using a video conferencing platform only.

Results: The post-test results of the experimental group participating in the program showed significant improvement compared to the pre-test results, and the effect size was 0.86 for self-identity and 2.10 for career decision-making self-efficacy. Conversely, the control group's post-test scores did not show a significant improvement compared to the pre-test.

Conclusion: This program is effective in improving the self-identity and career decision-making self-efficacy of college students. The results of this study are significant in that they confirmed the effectiveness and availability of online-based narrative therapy group counseling programs for college students.
